{"id":3723,"date":"2025-12-05T14:36:50","date_gmt":"2025-12-05T14:36:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ft365.org\/index.php\/2025\/12\/05\/louvre-to-bolster-its-security-issues-e57m-public-tender\/"},"modified":"2025-12-05T14:36:50","modified_gmt":"2025-12-05T14:36:50","slug":"louvre-to-bolster-its-security-issues-e57m-public-tender","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ft365.org\/index.php\/2025\/12\/05\/louvre-to-bolster-its-security-issues-e57m-public-tender\/","title":{"rendered":"Louvre to Bolster Its Security, Issues \u20ac57m Public Tender"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"cphContent_pnlArticleBody\">\n<div id=\"layout-de0828af-4ab4-4475-9161-9bd66dac2bad\" data-layout-id=\"2\" data-edit-folder-name=\"text\" data-index=\"0\">\n<p>The Louvre has announced plans to overhaul its security infrastructure following a high-profile break-in at the museum\u2019s Apollo Gallery in October that resulted in the theft of the Crown Jewels, valued at \u20ac88m ($102.5m).<\/p>\n<p>The public entity managing the museum has launched a public tender worth \u20ac57m ($66.4m) in a bid to \u201crenovate the museum\u2019s safety and security infrastructure with new software systems, network equipment and safety technologies.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Some of the key missions include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Establishing a new digital safety management system encompassing the remote management of connected safety mechanisms and the deployment of cybersecurity solutions<\/li>\n<li>Deploying an IT and physical security monitoring software solution capable of consolidating and correlating data from various security-related business applications, that includes \u201can intuitive, user-friendly human-machine interface (HMI) to ensure seamless operation\u201d and integrates third-party vendor systems, including incident logging, internal telephone networks and in-house public address systems<\/li>\n<li>Revamping the CCTV network, deploying new surveillance cameras and establishing a central video management system (VMS)<\/li>\n<li>Creating new access control mechanisms in line with certifications vetted by the French Cybersecurity Agency (ANSSI) and deploying a monitoring solution to centrally manage access controls<\/li>\n<li>Renovating the intrusion detection systems (IDS) and the close-proximity artwork detection systems<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In the procurement call notification, the Louvre specified that all hardware and software must be interoperable and sufficiently scalable and open to adapt to technological advancements and avoid vendor lock-in or closed-system limitations.<\/p>\n<p>No suspension of activity is planned. The modernizations works will happen either while the museum is open to visitors or during closure times.<\/p>\n<p>Companies have until December 10 to apply and show interest in providing solutions in line with the Louvre\u2019s needs.<\/p>\n<p>On October 22, just three days after the heist, Louvre director Laurence des Cars described the heist as a &#8220;brutal theft\u201d before the members of the French Senate\u2019s Culture Committee.
