{"id":3957,"date":"2025-12-24T13:36:50","date_gmt":"2025-12-24T13:36:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ft365.org\/index.php\/2025\/12\/24\/servicenow-to-pay-7-8bn-for-ot-security-specialist-armis\/"},"modified":"2025-12-24T13:36:50","modified_gmt":"2025-12-24T13:36:50","slug":"servicenow-to-pay-7-8bn-for-ot-security-specialist-armis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/ft365.org\/index.php\/2025\/12\/24\/servicenow-to-pay-7-8bn-for-ot-security-specialist-armis\/","title":{"rendered":"ServiceNow to Pay $7.8bn For OT Security Specialist Armis"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/ft365.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/localimages\/ea721ff9-8ba4-4d88-b386-57e9e1606077.jpg?width=64&#038;height=64&#038;mode=crop&#038;scale=both&#038;format=webp\" alt=\"Photo of Phil Muncaster\" loading=\"lazy\"><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"cphContent_pnlArticleBody\">\n<div id=\"layout-7cf27566-2279-4dca-985e-440f829f3f23\" data-layout-id=\"2\" data-edit-folder-name=\"text\" data-index=\"0\">\n<p>ServiceNow has announced a $7.8bn deal to acquire security startup Armis at the end of what has been a big year for cybersecurity merger and acquisition (M&#038;A) activity.<\/p>\n<p>Best known for its IT service and operations management and security operations (SecOps) offerings, ServiceNow said the acquisition would \u201cextend and enhance\u201d its security, risk, and OT portfolios.<\/p>\n<p>The firm claimed the deal will \u201cmore than triple\u201d its market opportunity for security and risk solutions.<\/p>\n<p>The two firms have been longtime partners, with Armis data powering ServiceNow\u2019s automated workflows for joint customers.<\/p>\n<p><em>Read more on M&#038;A: Cybersecurity M&#038;A Roundup: Cyber Giants Strengthen AI Security Offerings<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Armis is best known for its OT and IoT security expertise, which enables customers to manage cyber-risk exposure across often poorly protected assets.<\/p>\n<p>ServiceNow claimed the combination of this with its workflow automation expertise would help prospective customers in sectors like manufacturing and healthcare to proactively close security gaps.<\/p>\n<h2>The AI Angle<\/h2>\n<p>ServiceNow was also keen to emphasize the importance of Armis data and insights to its AI Control Tower platform, which unifies AI management and governance across the enterprise.<\/p>\n<p>The tie-up will help organizations more effectively defend against AI-powered attacks by providing insight into where they\u2019re exposed\u00a0and automated remediation at scale to continuously reduce risk, the firm claimed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the agentic AI era, intelligent trust and governance that span any cloud, any asset, any AI system, and any device are non-negotiable if companies want to scale AI for the long-term,\u201d said ServiceNow president, Amit Zavery.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTogether with Armis, we will deliver an industry-defining strategic cybersecurity shield for real-time, end-to-end proactive protection across all technology estates. Modern cyber risk doesn\u2019t stay neatly confined to a single silo, and with security built into the ServiceNow AI Platform, neither will we.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>However, the key to a successful acquisition, as always, will be how well the two firms integrate their offerings \u2013 particularly Armis\u2019 data and ServiceNow\u2019s popular configuration management database (CMDB) product.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the era of AI and agents, the benefits and value will be enormous, but so is the complexity,\u201d said Larry Feinsmith, head of global tech strategy, innovation &#038; partnerships at JPMorgan Chase.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe combination of ServiceNow and Armis provides a dynamic picture of an enterprise\u2019s connected technology assets and an AI and agentic-powered blueprint to secure and enable trusted AI.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>M&#038;A activity rebounded sharply in 2025, with the value of deals beating those of 2024 by more than 10%\u00a0and coming close to exceeding the record set in 2021, of around $75bn.<\/p>\n<p>The acquisition is an all-cash deal expected to close in the second half of 2026.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><em>Image credit: bluestork \/ Shutterstock.com<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ServiceNow has announced a $7.8bn deal to acquire security startup Armis at the end of what has been a big year for cybersecurity merger and acquisition (M&amp;A) activity.
